Poria & Polygala Decoction
Kava Plus is a unique formula designed to promote a sense of calm and well-being
by combining the South Pacific herb kava with Chinese herbs such as poria and polygala.
Kava is an integral part of the culture and society of many Polynesian and Micronesian
peoples, where it is consumed as a beverage for ritual and ceremonial use. The beverage
helps the kava drinker maintain a state of contentment and greater sense of well-being.
Modern science has confirmed kava's ability to promote physical and mental relaxation
and has isolated the herb's key constituents, known as kavalactones. This unique formula
contains 250 mg of premium extract of kava root standardized to 30% kavalactones, an
amount consistent with clinical trials. The herb is then combined with a decoction of
Chinese herbs traditionally used to maintain a "calm spirit" such as poria and
polygala, to reinforce the effects of kava. This formula may also be used at bedtime.
